Stop and think about when was the last time you and your spouse had a date. I am the worst at putting off date nights because I justify not going out to avoid spend money or to avoid having to asking someone to watch the kids. This is a mistake. I need to prioritize my marriage. When me and my husbands relationship is in a good place, life just seems to be better. Our communication is better, our parenting is better, our moods are better. So, this year, I have decided to brainstorm a list of date night ideas we can implement in our lives and hopefully you can take some ideas for yours!
Budget Friendly Date Ideas
1. The Driving Range
This is a date that is right up my husbands alley. He loves to golf, and although I do not golf or have the patience to do a round of golf, I do enjoy hitting a few golf balls at the driving range with him. He is happy because he is doing something he enjoys and I am happy because it is a shorter commitment activity than a whole round of golf. Win Win!
2. Picnic
Throw some cheese, crackers, and sausage in a cooler with your favorite drink of choice and head to a nearby park. This is a great date for a cool spring day or fall evening. Bonus if you can find a water front view! #romantic
3. Go Fishing
This is a low budget idea that brings you and your special someone together in nature. I love going fishing with my husband because we can be slightly competitive to see who can catch the most fish. Also, I do not like taking the fish off the hook so it gives my husband some hubandly duties on the date. ๐
4. Outdoor Concerts
We love going to outdoor concerts over the spring, summer, and fall evenings. You can usually find some that are free to the public and might offer food trucks or concessions available.
5. Trivia Night
Lots of restaurants and bars offer free trivia nights on specific nights of the week. These are especially fun if you win because there is often prizes awarded, like drink tickets! #cheers
6. Go out for Dessert
Instead of going out to dinner, go out for a yummy dessert. Save some money on dinner and treat each other to something sweet!

7. Bowling
Bowling is a classic activity to enjoy with your special someone. It is affordable and gives you both some friendly competition.
8. Rock Climbing
A lot of rock climbing facilities offer a beginners course. This is a physical and active date night for you and your adventurous honey.
9. Food Prep/Cooking Class
There are a ton of new businesses that are designed to help you food prep and learn to cook healthy and nutritious meals. Take your date and get some food prepped for the week ahead. You will get to bond and you will feel prepared for the next work week!
10. Sporting Event
Plan a evening at your local sports game. Soccer, hockey, baseball, doesn’t matter, whatever you and your honey will have fun rooting for! Tip: look for local teams for cheaper tickets closer to home!
